February 1st means so much to Black Americans, Black Canadians, and Afro-Germans. It marks a month dedicated to honoring our legacy, our history, and the stories that have gone untold for centuries.
But as I always say, I’m Black 365 days a year. And while, as an African American, I’m used to an influx of Black history every February, I want the world to understand this truth: we celebrate Black history all year long, all around the globe.
If you trace my Panamanian roots, the celebration happens in May. In Brazil, it’s honored in November. Our history is not confined to one month, it moves with the diaspora.
And since Black travelers are 67% more likely to plan a trip around a Black experience, especially in this milestone 100th year of recognizing Black history thanks to Carter G,Woodson, here’s how to celebrate Black History around the world every month!
